The details of Konami's deal to publish a series of Disney sports games were finally revealed today by the company. Tentatively titled, Disney All-Star Sports, the series will feature both team sports and extreme sports games, starring popular Disney characters as athletic all-stars. Disney All-Star Sports Soccer, Football, Skateboarding, and Basketball will be released exclusively on Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance this year. For Game Boy Advance only, Konami will also develop Disney All-Star Sports Snowboarding.

Combining the high-energy fun of each sport with the humor and imagination of Disney, Disney All-Star Sports puts an extreme edge on sports console games. Disney All-Star Sports will deliver arcade-style action, multiplayer gaming, and stunning graphics for some of the best-loved Disney personalities, including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Max, and Big Bad Pete.

Kunio Neo, President of Konami of Europe said, "Konami is excited to bring a whole new experience to console sports fans... Disney's all-star cast of beloved characters combined with arcade-style sports games will yield incredible success for this new series."

"Disney Interactive is pleased to be working with Konami on this important company initiative," said Jan Smith, president, Disney Interactive. "Gamers, sports fans, and Disney fans alike will enjoy playing the Disney All-Star Sports games with their favorite Disney characters."

The first to be released, Disney All-Star Sports Soccer will arrive in Japan on July 18th (see images below). The game will feature many famous Disney characters, ten teams, and special goal kicks. Disney All-Star Sports Football and Disney All-Star Sports Skateboarding will both release soon after on July 25th.
