The last time we saw Pikmin take to the streets was in Chicago
during Thanksgiving. Well, Nintendo was at it again last weekend,
sending Pikmin to New York City during the holidays to help out
shoppers. The Pikmin made appearances at FAO Schwartz, Saks Fifth
Avenue, and the Today Show window.
Sending employees around in Pikmin costumes is just another one of
the many "buzz" marketing methods you can expect from
Nintendo in coming years. From silver screen ads and Cube Clubs to Pokemon
Beatles and a Pikmin flower, Nintendo has given significant
recognition to alternative methods of advertising in recent months.
We can only imagine what Nintendo will break out come time for Mario
Sunshine's release.
