Nintendo
GameCube sales continued to climb last week to 77,000 as the holiday
shopping period came to a peak in Japan. Significant
influences in GameCube's sales were The Legend of Zelda: Kaze no Takuto
and Mario Party 4. Kaze no Takuto, which was released in Japan on
December 13, sold 104,400 copies this week bringing total sales to
512,200. Meanwhile, Mario
Party 4 continues to defy all expectations, actually climbed the #6 spot
on the software sales chart after six weeks of release. Party sold
84,800 copies in the week with total sales now reaching 499,200.
Game Boy Advance sales were through the roof yet again last week, moving
325,400 units on the continued strength of Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon
Sapphire. Combined sales of the two Pokémon GBA games have now
surpassed 2.4 million units with each moving more than 200,000
copies last week alone. Meanwhile, PlayStation 2 continued to
dominate on the console front with 154,000 systems sold. Click to
